Other Event Types
In addition to Power Quality (voltage deviation) events, three special event types are included in the
i-Grid website Event Lists:
Periodic RMS
The i-Sense continually monitors the line and calculates RMS values, then collects these values every 10 minutes:
- AVERAGE -- the average RMS voltage over the whole 10-minute interval
- MIN -- the minimum half-cycle RMS voltage over the 10-minute interval
- MAX -- the maximum half-cycle RMS voltage over the 10-minute interval
When 32 of these intervals have been collected, a "Periodic RMS" event is posted.
Click on the Periodic RMS event ID number to see the long-term voltage profile.
Longer-term voltage profiles and voltage regulation and unbalance reports are available--contact i-Grid Support.
Heartbeat Event
Every 12 to 24 hours, the i-Sense collects a sample of the RMS voltage and voltage waveform.
This "Heartbeat" event causes the i-Sense to immediately dial out and connect to the i-Grid
(unless the user has restricted the dialing time). Heartbeats are useful for verifying that the i-Sense is
operating normally. A heartbeat event can be generated at any time by briefly pushing the
LED/button on the i-Sense.
Power Up Event
When the i-Sense is first installed, a "Power Up" heartbeat is recorded.
A Power Up event will also be recorded following a firmware change.
